THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, Sue Monk Kidd - A friend from work loaned me this book and I have to admit; I wasn't as taken with this book as everyone else seems to be. It was a "sweet" read. Nothing more, nothing less. (

Tiburon, S. Carolina after Rosaleen insults three white men. A big No, No in the 1960's south. They are taken in by three bee-keeping sisters who help Lily confront her past and learn what it means to be part of a family.
I can totally picture
Bees as a movie which is great because the movie adaptation of
Bees will be in theaters this Friday, October 17. There are some heavy hitters in this film - Queen
Latifah (me loves her!!), Jennifer Hudson, Dakota Fanning, Sophie
Okonedo, Alicia Keys and Paul
Nettany. I will have to talk someone into viewing this movie with me!

I really enjoyed this novel but I do think you have to like coming of age novels- I find tho when everyone raves about a book to me I get really high expectations-
